International Wine Challenge 2009
GOLD MEDAL FOR CONO SUR 20 BARRELS SAUVIGNON BLANC 2008
Another year has gone by at one of UK’s largest and most prestigious blind tastings. On the 26th version of the event, a top quality judging panel – with Tim Atkin, Charles Metcalfe, Sam Harrop, and Derek Smedley as Chairmen – spent two weeks tasting more than 9,500 wines from 41 countries. Undoubtedly this is one of the most important events of the year in the wine industry.
Cono Sur Vineyards & Winery was awarded a gold medal for Cono Sur 20 Barrels Limited Edition Sauvignon Blanc 2008, which was described by the judges as: “Very aromatic, pronounced nettle nose, with grapefruit, grass and green peas. Ripe gooseberry followed by crisp long lemon and lime. Very well-balanced acid and good weight and very refreshing.”
