Cono Sur Bicycle Viognier 2008
A dazzling value, showing vibrancy, depth and complexity well beyond its price. The secret? Viognier was grafted onto chenin blanc vines that were planted in 1957; the old vines add intensity to the flavours. Expect lifted aromas of spearmint, starfruit and pepper. Light to mid-weight and zesty, with some typical Viognier bitterness. The 2009 should be just as good.

Cono Sur Bicycle Viognier 2008
From Valle de Colchagua (Colchagua Valley), this wine has amazing spicy, nectarine, honey, grapefruit and orange aromas. The palate is lively with spicy, floral, ginger, orange, juicy melon flavours. Elegant and fun with lots of fruit. Consistently fine and the 2008 is one of the best yet.

Cono Sur Viognier 2007
“When it comes to value for money, you can’t beat the wines of Cono Sur. Look for fantastic
notes of aromatic peach with rich aromas of honeysuckle and apricot. This bottle is calling for a
steaming bowl of delicious curry done up with a coconut milk and lots of spice.”

Cono Sur Visión Single Vineyard Viognier 2008
“Wow, wow. This style of Viogner hasn’t spread in Chile yet. Over ripeness and density, it offers a rich and fresh fruit clearness, together with a soft and light body, full of a nervy acidity. Ideal to be served next to grouper.”
Vinos y Más Magazine, June 2009 / Chile -
Cono Sur Viognier 2008
“Light yellow. Textbook Viognier aromas of white peach, pear, flowers and anise. Fleshy and smooth, showing gently sweet melon and pit fruit flavors, with gentle floral and spice qualities. An outstanding value, with the clarity and complexity of many Viogniers costing three or four times as much.”

Cono Sur Viognier 2008
“Pale to medium straw in color, with a pretty apple, pear and honeysuckle perfume that carries over onto the palate with a good dose of mineral. Medium to medium full bodied, with excellent acids and good length. The minerality gives this a solid anchor and adds a nice counterpoint to the rich, ripe fruit. Wish that more New World Viogniers did the same.”

Cono Sur Visión Viognier 2008

Cono Sur Viognier 2007: Party Pair
“Viognier grapes are the new darlings of white wine. Think Chardonnay, but not as heavy with the makeup. It’s a real charmer that’s fun to sip any time. Cono Sur makes one of the best – and practically gives it away.”

Cono Sur Viognier 2006
“Cono Sur has managed something I would have thought impossible here, drawn an audience for Viognier. Part of it, is due to the halo effect of their other entries, but most of this is deserved. Their Viognier was Sairy’s pick out of the four – she came through the door, and before the poor woman even got her coat off I insisted she check out the wines.
Great flavours of peach and pear up front, a nice weight with good acid in the middle, and a bit of smoke with a medium finish, this is a solid Viognier at a very good price.”

Cono Sur Visión Viognier 2007 and Gewürztraminer 2007
The 2007 Visión Viognier is a great value, a floral, elegant wine with white peach and mineral flavors and a racy core of acidity. Hurtado also makes an exemplary Gewürztraminer; the 2007 “Visión” Gewürztraminer is fleshly and bright, with the typical aromas and flavors of lychee, rose petals and spice.

Cono Sur Viogner 2007
This is a surprisingly good quality Viognier at a terrific price. Honey, floral and peach notes abound, while the medium-bodied, slightly off-dry palate is freshened up by Zesty acidity. Nice polish and length at work here.

Cono Sur Viognier 2007
It is a grape of some substance, richly aromatic on the nose, the scent of peaches and cream rising up from the pale gold in the glass. On the palate, there’s body, and ripe melon balanced by sharper apricot notes, with a fine, warm finish, a hint of spice at the end.

Ripe white peach and apricot aromas that turn sweet on the palate. A tasty little sweet summer quaffer. Also try the Merlot with black berries, plums and a touch of mint. Enjoy!.
