Visión Single Vineyard Carmenere 2008
Colchagua is considered to be one of Chile’s most gifted origins for Carmenere. The combination of its clayish and stony soils with a sun-bathed climate resounds in this variety’s signature velvety tannins. Deep and intense purple red. Its nose reveals fruity notes like black cherry, with hints of coffee, dark chocolate, leather and hazelnuts. In mouth, fine ripe tannins contribute in creating a rich texture. Voluptuous and enduring, it has a well defined structure and firmness.
Food Pairing
It’s great with almost every kind of meat: beef, lamb, pork and game. Its well-defined and spicy character is a good counterpart to ingredients that could be troublesome for other wines: tomatoes, aubergines, peppers, onion and garlic. Vegetable soups, mushrooms and moussaka are also good alternatives and, if opting for cheeses, go for the yellow, medium-bodied types like Gouda, Cheddar and Provolone.
