Matías Ríos / Winemaking Manager
Matías Ríos studied Agricultural Engineering at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He worked at two prestigious Chilean wineries, until he joined our team in the year 2003. Since then he has taken on important responsibilities, particularly finding the best terroirs, making sure that each vineyard receives the right management, defining the precise harvesting moment, producing the wines along with the rest of the winemaking team, and contributing a unique personality to each one of them. Matías has also been part of both our sustainable and organic programs.

Cecilia Padilla / Winemaker
Cecilia Padilla studied Agricultural Engineering at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. In the year 2000 she joined Cono Sur’s winemaking team where she worked as Winemaker’s assistant for a year. This time was a learning experience for her that encouraged her to acquire viticultural wisdom and knowledge. In 2001 she took on the role of winemaker at Santa Elisa state in Chimbarongo. She has been very involved in Cono Sur’s Pinot Noir project, mainly finding and selecting the best terroirs in Chile, and defining the optimum integrated vineyard management, according to Burgundy’s traditional method.

Guillermo Sánchez / Winemaker
Guillermo Sánchez studied Agricultural Engineering at the Universidad de Chile. After a time of professional growth he joined Cono Sur’s team at the beginning of 2007, to take on the role of winemaker. Since then his responsibilities have noticeably increased, particularly when finding and selecting grapes and studying organic certifications and options. He has also been actively involved in the development of sustainable and agricultural management.
